You can disable software deactivation to prevent unauthorized return and disabling of Intel Education Software. Intel Education Software can be deactivated and the license for that device returned to the entitlement license pool for reuse on another device. Device check fails if you move the hard drive to a replacement device without using the LicRepair tool to remove the license files. Use the LicRepair tool to remove the license files for that device from the hard drive. The device identifier is composed of unique hardware IDs. Entering the Activation ID is not required once the device is registered with the license server.Ī license is associated with a unique device identifier.
With each license entitlement, you are able to activate a specific number of licensed copies of Intel® Education Software products. Intel recommends securing the Activation ID to safeguard it from unintended use. The Activation ID is sent via an entitlement e-mail or certificate, to the purchaser of the software. The Activation ID is provided by Intel to the Intel® Education Software purchaser, and is required to activate the software.
The license file is only valid on the device it was created for at the time of activation. Each IES software application makes a runtime call to the Intel central licensing server, to see if the software and version are licensed for the device.
